Kevin Roberson

Ok, we all know good Trek games are as rare as a squeamish Klingon, but Cryptic might just be on to something here. Not to say it’s “good” by industry standards, but it does break the mold a bit and has a lot more potential than, say, Star Trek: Legacy.

I really, really wish this headline were inaccurate. But apparently, a South Korean couple let their actual baby daughter starve to death while caring for a virtual child online.

[Preview] Star Trek Online Open Beta: The Next Generation

Kevin Roberson

star-trek-online-logo

Kenneth Ellis appears to have transwarped his STO preview to the boards before me, but even Bones McCoy occasionally needed to get a second opinion. Damn it, man! I’m a reviewer, not a blogger! Number one, lay in a course for some lame joke about “boldly going where no MMO has gone before.” Engage.

DFO Slayer

Yes, I know Kenneth already reviewed DFO. But guess what? You’re getting a second opinion, and goddammit, you’re gonna sit there and like it! Also, eat your vegetables. Now, while I will be coming to Kenneth’s super cool Cool Person party (invited or not!), my opinion on the game differs somewhat.

Adam Bruno

thering-430x267

Remember when Lord of the Rings won MMO of the Year in 2008? Okay, I vaguely do, but Turbine has announced an expansion, which only ramps up the awesomeness value. While it seems the expansion isn’t free like initially thought, Siege of Mirkwood looks like it’s going to deliver quite nicely. Let’s go over some of the new features, shall we?

[Review] MMO Bites: Warhammer Online

Adam Bruno

WAR 1

Howdy, folks!

Today, we’re going to be taking a look at the admittedly rather old (but much improved) Warhammer Online as it nears its 1-year anniversary. The Warhammer Fantasy (and Warhammer 40k) IP has had a lasting influence on the video games industry, inspiring several other notable products, so it’s interesting to see how the MMORPG version of the original turned out. Well, let’s not waste any more time; onto the review!

[Rant] Twilight MMO in Development

Adam Bruno

twighlight1-430x165

Let me start by saying that I love vampires. Vampires are awesome. I, like many other vampire lovers, have often wondered (dare I say fantasized) what it would be like to be a vampire. I loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Blade, Underworld, and pretty much any vampire fiction you can think of. Except Twilight. I fucking hate Twilight. And now they’re getting an MMO.
