Edge of Twilight Archive

Rumors of Edge of Twilight’s cancellation and Fuzzyeyes’ demise were on pretty much every video game site on the net recently. We here at GamingDead.com were pretty broken up about it, choosing not to cover the story in the hope that it was a cruel, groundless lie. If you think we overreacted, you likely haven’t read about this promising game, or watched its awesome trailers.
Well, we’ve got some good news, and we’ve got some bad news.

Fuzzyeyes Studio was recently threatened with legal action by colossal asshat, Tim Langdell of Edge Games, because he wasn’t pleased with a certain word being present in the title of their upcoming game, Edge of Twilight.
See, Mr. Langdell hasn’t actually made a game for decades, but he delights in antagonizing and threatening honest developers who use any form of “Edge” in the titles of their games. Even though Edge of Twilight has been in development since 2007, that didn’t stop ol’ Tim from rushing to trademark the phrase “Edge of Twilight” this year, presumably so he could throw a cease-and-desist their way.

If you haven’t heard of Edge of Twilight yet, here’s the skinny: The game came virtually out of nowhere this past E3, and quickly made a strong case for its inclusion in my must-buy games list with a single, awesome pair of trailers.
Being unable to find any interviews or information on the game released later than 2008, I contacted Fuzzyeyes myself and demanded (begged) they answer all my questions. Fortunately Wei-Yao Lu, the studio’s Managing Director and all-around swell guy, obliged.

When E3 2009 coverage ended not that long ago, I was left in a very serious predicament. Like every year, I was inundated with way more must-have games than I will be able to afford. Which leaves me with no other option but to become an infamous jewel thief to make ends meet. The FBI agents attempting to track me down during my electrifying world-wide crime spree will dub me “The Koala,” because I’ll leave a single Eucalyptus leaf at the scene of every heist. Also, because I’ll dress like a Koala and make Koala noises while I steal shit.
There were so many games at E3 this year, I even made a list of the games I feel compelled to purchase. It’s not set in stone; I might scratch a game off for bad reviews, or because I hear that all the voice work is done by Kathy Griffin. Check my list out after the jump.

Where the hell did this game come from? The last I heard of it was back in 2007, when it was some generic-looking snooze-fest. Then, along comes E3 ‘09, and suddenly I find myself adding it to my must-buy games list. Fuzzyeyes Studio, whose last game was Hot Dog King: A Fast Food Empire, hasn’t exactly been one of my favorite developers, but based on the strength of two recently-released trailers for Edge of Twilight, that may change.
