Steam’s celebrating this Thanksgiving weekend with a different set of games on sale everyday. Today, on the blackest of Fridays, games both big and small are getting the cost reduction treatment.

Sales include a solid discount to recently released Left 4 Dead 2, along with big discounts (75% off or more) on titles Majesty 2, Madballs in Babo: Invasion and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

[Review] Dead Space: Extraction

The on-rails shooter genre has become increasingly unpopular for the past decade or so. This is understandable as the conventions of the genre are so counter-intuitive that they kill any immersion created by the light gun, conventions such as shooting ammo to pick it up, reloading by shooting off screen, and ensuring the only meaningful way of interacting with NPCs is by shooting them. So considering the expectation of an on-rails shooter, it’s understandable that I and everyone else cringed when we heard about Dead Space: Extraction.

But, Wii owners will be happy to know that Dead Space and Visceral Games have rethought the entire genre from the ground up to make a truly spectacular game.
