Greetings again, Goshujin-Sama! As you may remember, I got to interview the maids and hosts at the Animaid Café. I already listed the maids, but now it’s time to give the hosts some love.

Ah, good old Anime Expo. If you get what the above pic references, you probably hate me right about now, but that’s what I’m here for! Anyway, here’s the next batch of pics. If I can find enough for a third wave, I’ll make another post, for now, enjoy these.

Everyday’s a holiday, depending on what calendars you’ve got lying around. I know that I, for one, recently celebrated Iced Tea Day, and while I have a dog and really wanted to take her for work for Take Your Dog to Work Day, my bosses wouldn’t let me. Boo. But hey, Video Games day is one holiday I can celebrate easily! According to Google, it’s today, July 8th. How have you celebrated?
I’m celebrating with nostalgic video games: I’m playing my newest acquisitions from Anime Expo, Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI from the Final Fantasy Anthology. Would you believe I’ve never played (and finished) either of these games before? Huzzah to Video Games Day and encouraging me to expand my horizons beyond modern 3D games with voice acting and impossible mini-games!

Pardon the delay, but I’ve got interviews, pics, and more to sort out, so the AX stuff will be released in installments. Think Xenosaga. Pictured above is the Atlus booth at the Exhibit Hall, and that’s just the start. Here come some more!

There are a few names that every fan of the Final Fantasy series of games knows: Hironobu Sakaguchi, Yoshitaka Amano, Nobuo Uematsu…Monty Oum.
Oum may not be listed during the credits of any of the Final Fantasy games out there…yet. But having created five successful fan videos pitting characters from the Final Fantasy and Dead or Alive franchises against one another, in a series known as Dead Fantasy, Oum is now a household name for gamers in those fandoms. We caught up with him at the Artists’ Alley at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, CA.

So, we’re at AX, and it’s all I can do to find time to write this. Expect a great big post or two from Meredith and I accompanied with plenty of pics when this is all over. Here’s a brief preview of the things you can look forward to:

The acronyms do not lie! The Site of the Gaming Dead will be at the 2009 Anime Expo, and both Meredith Sweet and yours truly will be wandering about, scoping out the scenes and biting people.
