Fans of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning can hold onto a shred of hope that there may, in fact, be a sequel, according to a GamesIndustry.biz article.
Heritage Global Partners, who now hold all of 38 Studios’ stuff will now be selling everything at a public auction to be held on November 14th at 9am and closing on November 15th at 12pm, EDT.
Other items for auction are all merchandise associated with Amalur, plans for Project Copernicus, and IP rights for Rise of Nations, Rise of Legends, and the XBOX Live version of Catan.
Big Huge Games entire back catalog will be available for anyone willing to buy into the auction, and details are available in the aforementioned link for Heritage Global.
Though it has been sad news for the closure of Curt Schilling’s 38 Studios and developer Big Huge Games, we can all hope that Intellectual Property rights may fall into the right hands and a new Kingdoms of Amalur may be coming soon!
