I suppose we all saw this one coming.
With parents completely afraid of the 3DS’s potential problem with, you know, completely obliterating their childrens’ eyes (it’s an exaggeration), Nintendo has had somewhat of a difficult time selling 3DS consoles to a younger demographic. The packaging itself contains warnings against children under 5 years using the 3D peripheral on the system, as their eyes are still developing and doing so may cause serious damage to the development of their retina.
However, Nintendo wants to say that it’s all done in order to save money on consoles, which could probably be true.
Either way, Games Industry recently sat down with Nintendo’s Scott Moffitt in a Q&A session.
