Yes, I realize I’m very late to the game on this one, but hear me out. I’m lazy.
Square/Enix has recently announced plans for their new open beta test on the upcoming MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, which had previously been cancelled and re-worked into a new game sometime in late 2010/early 2011. This new iteration promises to be a real Final Fantasy experience, with in-game worlds woven into the tapestry of the sprawling awe and delight of lush landscapes and truly breathtaking environments. Players will feel like they’re taking a quest in a true to form Final Fantasy experience again, and that is definitely something to look forward to playing for its fans.
As a unique IP in a best-selling video game franchise, Final Fantasy has years of history starting with the original 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System. The turn-based battle system of the original game was further revolutionized by implementing a real-time strategy system, which added a lot more tension to strategic planning during battles. Though some gamers have been turned off by the random encounter system and cutesy, cartoony look, the original Playstation saw a new turn forFinal Fantasy 7. Everyone who put all their materia and equipment on Aeris soon realized that they would lose it all in one of the saddest moments in video game storytelling, and one that made it possible to tell a deeply engaging story in a video game.
With 3D technology, video game developers saw the potential in narrative within a console port, and spent a lot more time and money trying to capture the minds and hearts of their audience. We appreciate it! Thank you!
Open beta testing will be available to fans HERE, and testing will start from August 17th through the 19th, so get in while the getting is good!
