It looks like we’re going to need to wait a little longer for Blizzard’s mysterious MMO. Codenamed Project Titan, the game has been in some state of development since at least 2007.
According to VentureBeat, the title won’t be hitting stores until at least 2016, due to a complete overhaul of the project. The report indicates that the Titan team has been downsized from over 100 to just 30 people, with those remaining crew members asked to reassess the future of the title. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m getting serious Starcraft: Ghost flashbacks.
Blizzard has since confirmed the news with Polygon, but declined to comment on the team size or release date.
“We’ve always had a highly iterative development process, and the unannounced MMO is no exception,” Blizzard stated.
“We’ve come to a point where we need to make some large design and technology changes to the game. We’re using this opportunity to shift some of our resources to assist with other projects while the core team adapts our technology and tools to accommodate these changes.”
