Everybody! Get ready to embrace the courtroom legend that is Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney!
Capcom has just announced that Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies, the fifth game in the series, will hit the US through downloadable distribution sometime this Fall for the Nintendo 3DS. The game centers around our titular hero, Phoenix Wright, as he battles cases in the courtroom. It plays in the style of an old-school, point-and-click, interactive story-type, Japanese role-playing game that relies heavily on your skills of observation and reasoning, challenging its players with various logic puzzles. The stories and cases unfold through twists and turns in finding and collecting various items and submitting them as evidence for judge and jury to decide your client’s fate from going behind prison bars.
…especially when things go missing in my neighbors’ houses and mysteriously appear on Ebay!
The story begins in a bombed courtroom, with Phoenix Wright and his associates being sent to investigate the crime scene. It’s up to Phoenix Wright, colleague Apollo Justice, and his newly appointed Associate Attorney, Athena Cykes, to find the culprit behind this and other diabolical schemes in the search for truth and justice inside the courtroom. Athena’s ability to psychoanalyze Wright’s defendants during trial will add a new dynamic to gameplay, as her mood matrix will help determine how those on trial will think, feel, and react to courtroom evidence and new developments, helping to confirm contradictory testimony from various witnesses.
If you were a fan of the last four games in the series, or are interested to see what this series is about, pick up Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies this Fall.
