Have you ever wanted to be chased by Slenderman? Of course not. But you should still try this game. In case you aren’t familiar with the meme turned horror archetype, Slenderman is a tall, poorly proportioned, faceless man in a suit who, depending on the story, does everything from steal children, to bend the laws of time and space, to straight up murder you. It’s a freaky visual concept, and it’s no wonder why there exists no fewer than three popular Slenderman-inspired web series and a metric crapton of still art and fiction out there. If those aren’t quite enough to keep you up at night with all the lights on, perhaps you need a dose of interactivity.
Slender is a simple but terrifying Unity game that has you running around a park at night trying to find a series of notes. Oh yeah, you’re also being stalked by Slenderman. Enjoy your stroll, at least you brought a flashlight.
The game, currently in its beta form, is available as a free download (on PC and Mac), and if you’re looking for something fun, quick, and very freaky, I highly recommend giving it a shot. What have you got to lose? Oh right, sleep. Lots and lots of sleep.
