pre order

The pre-orders have started for Star Trek: Online and the bonuses are “Out of this World”! HAHAHAHAHA!!!

If you are a Trekkie and you are not foaming at the mouth at the upcoming Star Trek MMO, then you need to go back and watch some Next Gen or Deep Space Nine!

This game is going to be awesome for many reasons, but today let’s take a look at the “Set to Stun” bonus swag for pre-ordering. Oh, did I mention the swag changes depending on where you pre-order? I hope you have the latinum for such a venture.

First off, the Deluxe edition. I’m too excited to think of anything clever to say:

  • Deluxe Packaging: Futuristic 3dX holography set in a high quality brushed aluminum finish. Heavy duty construction with magnetic closures and nested compartments for all components.
  • Deluxe Manual: High end, hardbound, art book, manual, and disc case in a single, elegant package. “HD Printing” on over 40 glossy pages of exclusive art from the Star Trek Online Universe.
  • Communicator Badge: High quality cast metal design based on the in-game badge model. Fully 3d Sculpted with recessed burst and curved contours.
  • Guest Passes: Credit card style buddy passes to invite three of your friends for a three day trial of Star Trek Online.
  • Red Matter Capacitor: A unique item that charges up and delivers extra energy to all of your ship’s equipment for a short time. A device that, when used, gives you a small bump in energy, has a long recharge.
  • Next Generation Uniform: Uniform Options from and the Next Generation. The timeless look worn by Picard, Data and Riker.
  • “Deep Space Nine” Uniform: Uniform Options from the “Deep Space Nine” Series. Grey shoulders, on a black uniform, just like Sisko, Worf and Dax.

Yes, too awesome for words, but that’s just the deluxe edition stuff that only a Grand Negus or Andorian King could afford. Lets take a look at the sweet pre-order cargo. Now, it changes on where you’ve ordered it from, be it Amazon, Best Buy or Game-stop. So choose carefully, Ensign.

Amazon:

Pre-order Star Trek Online and receive access to the open beta (dates not yet announced) and an Amazon.com exclusive Borg Bridge Officer. Beta access codes will be e-mailed out prior to the start of the open beta. Borg officer codes will be located inside the box. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com, while supplies last. Limit one per customer.

Best Buy:

Get an early jump into the world of Star Trek Online with this special offer. Pre-order the game, and while supplies last, you’ll receive a beta test access code via e-mail.

This code will get you into the game’s open beta test, scheduled to run from 1/12–1/26. Then, the same code will give you early access into the real game environment from 1/27–2/1.

Plus, at launch, you’ll receive a code in-pack to download a free, Best Buy exclusive, in-game “pet” for your character in the game. Play as the Klingon’s, and you’ll get a Targ; play as the Federation, and you’ll get a Tribble!

Gamestop:

Reserve Star Trek Online and receive a GameStop exclusive in-game Starfleet Constitution Class Starship. This unique, upgradable starship comes equipped with blue phasers and an extra engineering station mod slot. Available online and in-store while supplies last, and receive beta access, and 2-day early head-start access. Beta begins January 12, 2010 and runs through January 26, 2010. Early head start will begin on January 29, 2010. Available online and in-store while supplies last.

I don’t know which I’m going to choose. Maybe I’ll pre order all 3 and have my Borg bridge crewman take care of my Tribble as I fly in my gangsta Constellation Class Starship!

The game releases on Earth date : 2/2/2010
