Valve has announced the release of Arcen Games massive space RTS title AI War: Fleet Command onto Steam. This, to me, appears to be a match made in heaven.

I say this because Valve is the post release support King–literally in the last few months they’ve released several patches and updates to games like Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, and even that amazing geezer of an FPS Counter-Strike–and they have picked up a developer who has brought over a dozen updates to their own game, which as of current has reached the v2.0 milestone release to correspond with the Steam launch.

To celebrate the start of a beautiful friendship, AI War has been given a 25% discount ($5 off) through Tuesday, October 27.

Additionally, after contacting them to get the scoop on the new PC platform release and update, Chris Park of Arcen revealed that those who already own the game for PC via another distributor will be able to load their copy onto Steam using their product key, gaining access to the new achievements and online functionality.

That’s coming in a few days, as well as an interview with Chris on the state of his game.
