Summer is fast approaching, which games are your excuse for beating the heat?

It’s a new week, which means several new  “this vs. this other crazy thing” titles: Plants vs. Zombies and Sherlock Holmes versus Jack the Ripper, which actually sounds interesting, but will probably suck. Also coming to the PC are Crysis: Maximum Edition and Left 4 Dead: Game of the Year Edition.

Sony’s download-only Patapon 2 comes to the PSP this week amid rumors of a new UMD-less PSP to be announced at E3.

Finally, the Wii is seeing a “New Play Control!” version of Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and a remake of the classic PSX platformer Klonoa.

Top Pick: Klonoa (Not guaranteed to be a hit, but the furry adventurer seems perfectly suited to the Wii. Hopefully Western audiences will be able to overcome their aversion to cute things.)

Bottom Pick: Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust (The only bottom-pick contender I’ve seen reviewed. LSL fails to cater to even its most desperate fans.)
