Amazon Opens Xbox Live Arcade Store
| Chris Burke |

Let’s be honest, Xbox Live and Wii points suck. Sure they’re a good deal on the rare occasion when they’re on sale, but more often than not you end up buying more points than you needed. Now Amazon.com has opened an Xbox Live store where the game’s point value is translated directly to cash value.
Once you’ve paid the exact amount for the game, Amazon sends you a code you can use to redeem your download from Xbox Live. Pretty nifty stuff.
The store also sells subscriptions and plain old point cards.
Sony’s PSN has always allowed for the direct transaction of money for games, without a point-based middleman. Now that the 360 has it, let’s hope the Wii follows suit and we’ll finally be free from the tyranny of leftover points.
