Nintendo Planning New R&D Center
| Adam Bruno |

Despite economic crises, Nintendo’s apparently doing pretty well for themselves. Global demand for their products has increased enough that they’ve purchased a 40,000 square meter piece of property in Japan, despite cutting their profit forecast. Apparently, they plan to both construct a new R&D center and merge their old center with this new one.
There’s no word on when construction’s going to begin. Hopefully, they’re working on a next-gen console that 1) isn’t named something campy like “Wii” and 2) has more intuitive and responsive motion-sensing technology. And while they’re at it, it couldn’t hurt to put in a first-party quality checker so that they don’t greenlight more craptastic third-party games like Chicken Shoot or Ninjabread Man.
